Description

Solace™ is a product that was developed with much excitement and care to make sure the blend was perfect. We spent many months working with various extracts of from the raw Corydalis Yanhusuo Stem. We combined this for added Relaxation and Comfort support as well as Curcumin to support liver health while taking corydalis. This product also contains the plant terpenes: Myrcene, Linalool, Humulene and AP0-808 Probiotic Blend and SRT Polysaccharide Complex for improved absorption.

Precautions Before Using Corydalis:

More research is needed to learn about the possible side effects of using corydalis supplements with other herbs, supplements, or medications. Talk to your healthcare provider before you start taking corydalis, especially if you are already taking other prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medications, supplements, or products. There has not been enough safety and effectiveness research on corydalis use in certain groups of people who might be at risk for side effects. Children should not take corydalis. In addition, adults should steer clear if they are Pregnant or Breastfeeding or a history of seizures. Studies show it can be safe to take for at least 4 weeks and possibly longer however speak to to health care provider before taking it longer than one month. Consuming corydalis can have side effects. There is a risk of THP toxicity from corydalis supplements show in animal studies at over 475mg/kilogram of body weight.  With an average body weight of an adult at 70 kilo that’s 33 grams of the THP alkaloid and this product contains 100mg of THP. In high doses THP can cause sever liver stress (acute hepatitis), the symptoms of which are nausea, vomiting, pain in the abdomen, or fever. Ref  So don’t take high doses and Solace is meant for short term use of less then 4 weeks.

Research indicate that THP (an alkaloid from the plant corydalis) may be effective in reducing nerve pain.

Preliminary reports from Chinese researchers also note that 75 mg per day of THP (an alkaloid from the plant corydalis) was effective in reducing nerve pain in 78% of those tested.

Corydalis contains several ingredients, one of which has been shown to influence the nervous system, providing pain relief and promoting relaxation. People with insomnia were able to fall sleep more easily after taking 100 to 200 mg per day of a corydalis extract (called dl-tetrahydropalmatine, or DHP), according to a preliminary report.People taking the extract reported no drug hangover symptoms, such as dizziness or vertigo

 

An active constituent in corydalis, dl-tetrahydropalmatine, may have an anti-arrhythmic effect on the heart.

An active constituent in corydalis, dl-tetrahydropalmatine (dl-THP), may exert an anti-arrhythmic action on the heart. This action was observed in a preliminary trial with 33 patients suffering from a specific type of arrhythmia called supraventricular premature beat or SVPB. Each patient took 300 to 600 mg of dl-THP per day in tablet form, and the dl-THP was found to be significantly more effective than placebo in reducing arrhythmia.

A constituent of corydalis called tetrahydropalmatine appears to heave pain-relieving and sedative effects. It has shown to be effective for painful menstruation.

Corydalis contains several alkaloids, and one called tetrahydropalmatine (THP) is considered to be the most potent. In laboratory research, THP has been shown to exhibit a wide number of pharmacological actions on the central nervous system, including pain-relieving and sedative effects. According to a secondary reference, painful menstruation responded favorably to the administration of THP. For a pain-relieving effect, the recommended amount for the crude dried rhizome is 5–10 grams per day. Alternatively, one can take 10–20 ml per day of a 1:2 extract.

Corydalis extracts are useful in relieving pain and in treating stomach ulcers.

Extracts of the herb corydalis are not only helpful as pain-relief agents but also may be useful in the treatment of stomach ulcers. In a study of people with stomach and intestinal ulcers or chronic inflammation of the stomach lining, 90 to 120 mg of corydalis extract per day (equal to 5 to 10 grams of the crude herb) was found to be effective in 76% of the participants.

Liver Issued & Safety:

Based on previous clinical and animal trials, oral administration of raw C. yanhusuoextracts (more than 1–3 g/day) or total C. yanhusuo alkaloids (473.36 mg/kg) induced liver damage, muscle tremors, and renal hemorrhage in mice, indicating that raw C. yanhusuo extracts and total C. yanhusuo alkaloids have mild toxicity Ref. The liver damage may be due to the effects of high-dose C. yanhusuo including disordered energy metabolism and increased hepatocyte membrane permeability that facilitated the release of intracellular transaminase into the blood, eventually leading to liver cell swelling, acid change, necrosis, and inflammatory cell infiltration Ref. However, the mechanism through which C. yanhusuo induces muscle tremor and renal hemorrhage has not been reported, and therefore, further studies are needed.

The hepatotoxicity of total alkaloids in C. yanhusuo can be reduced by adding Curcumae longa or Curcumin. This is why we added this to our formula.
